BMP files not printing after MSFT update

Question

I have two programs developed with VS 2019 C++ that have been working for more that a year. All of the sudden, in both programs, when a BMP file is part a of a document it show on the screen correctly but does not print on a printer (tried on different printers). I did a system restore and the problem went away but returned about a couple of weeks later. This keeps happening. I assume that a windows update is installed that causes the error and a restore to before the update corrects it, but the update is installed again causing the error to reappear.
Has anyone found this problem and know of a fix?

Please update system to the latest build.
After installing updates released March 9, 2021 or March 15, 2021, you might get unexpected results when printing from some apps.

If you are using Windows 10 20H2, install March 18, 2021—KB5001649, which address an issue that fails to print the graphical content in a document after installing the March 9, 2021 update.
