My display brightness keeps changing every time i switch between different apps. I've been having this issue for a long time.

I'm using HP Omen Laptop. Windows 10.

I saw another thread with the same issue but was unable to reply in it.

I followed the steps that said the following:

*As an initial recommendation, I suggest you to follow the below steps to disable the adaptive or auto brightness for the selected power plan (if you already have a Power Plan created in Windows)

  • Open Control Panel and click on Power Options.
  • Open your active power plan, you’ll see Change plan settings option. Click Change plan settings next to your current power plan to open Edit Plan Settings window.
  • Click Change advanced power settings option. This will open Power Options dialog.
  • Expand Display and then expand Enable adaptive brightness. Change it to Off*

But the problem i the option "Enable adaptive brightness" is not even there.

So What do i do now?

Hi there. Thanks for the link. but the thing is that is not my issue. My issue is that my display brightness keeps fluctuating even after i've turned off the adaptive brightness in the battery settings and in the advanced display setting the "Enable adaptive brightness" option is not even there like how it should be in normal systems. the fluctuating brightness is really uncomfortable since it keeps fluctuating even when i'm working. I'm looking for a solution to fix the constant changing of my screen brightness. Thank you.

    Hi Kaushik,

What you are experiencing is the effect of "Intel Display Power Saving". This is not related to adaptive brightness and is a feature of the intel chip inside your laptop. To toggle it off, do the following:

    1. Download Intel Graphics Command Centre from the microsoft store app on your laptop
    2. Open it, then go to System
    3. After that, go to Power
    4. There would be 2 sections - "On Battery" and "Plugged in". Both would have a "Display Power Savings" option. Toggle it off for both.

After this, you should stop experiencing this dimming of display.

However, I have to notify you that some of the laptops are still experiencing the problem after switching Display Power Savings off. This has recently happened (might be due to an update).

However, this is the only solution (give it a try)

    Cheers!

Is there any fix like this but for the Ryzen 5-4600h processer on the omen 15 rather than the intel?

Edit: I fixed it! Thank god!

For the AMD models, search up AMD radeon settings in your windows search bar and turn off "Vari-bright"

I have had multiple tech calls and discussions about this with Microsoft Support. After an update to my Surface 3 laptop, my screen would randomly dim, usually when I changed tabs or browsers. If I was lucky it would slowly return to normal after playing with the up/down buttons. I can't even begin to tell you all of the things I tried. No one ever offered this as a solution, but they did try to get me to reinstall Windows. I was about to just upgrade to Pro, even though the benefits for me are minimal. And then I saw your post. This resolved the problem. I can't thank you enough. You should share this with Surface tech support 😁.

¿Hay alguna solución como esta, pero para el procesador Ryzen 5-4600h en el presagio 15 en lugar de la inteligencia?

    Editar: ¡Lo arreglé! ¡Gracias a Dios!

Para los modelos AMD, busque la configuración de AMD radeon en la barra de búsqueda de Windows y desactive "Vari-bright"

Thanks! I was going crazy jsjs.

I had to look up my problem in English to find the solution.

    Easy:

Radeon Software (you need to install) > Display > And...
