Bluetooth keyboard connection issue

I have a Bluetooth keyboard (DELL KB7120W) that is not connecting consistently (it is paired). Sometimes it will connect within a minute and sometimes it takes 5 minutes, Sometimes it won't connect at all (15 minutes) and have to remove the device and re-pair it. When it is connected it has a slight latency. The mouse that came with it has no problem at all staying connected.

I have tried updating the driver through Windows automatic driver update; it says I have the most current driver. I went the DELL support site and they said the same thing. I have W10H Ver 2004. I was wondering if there is an issue with this Bluetooth keyboard and W10H Ver 2004.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

    Thanks Dan.

Something I left out: when I do re-pair, the Dell keyboard comes up on the connection list and I click on it and 80% of the time I get the "Try reconnecting the device" message.

I did read the 4034571 article and gleaned some information:

    1. the latency issue is just recovery from sleep.
    2. I did pair the keyboard with my phone, but on channel 3. the laptop is on channel 2. I confirmed this with the Dell Peripheral Manager. So, that should not be an issue.

I am writing on the keyboard now, but it will take a couple of days to see how the connection is maintained, I will report back here in a couple of days.

    Thanks again,

    Peter

After more that a week, it is still not connecting well. Most of the time I have to delete the device in the "Mouse, Keyboard and Pen" list and re-pair.  That process usually goes like this:

    1. In settings, select Devices
    2. Under the "Mouse, Keyboard and Pen" list, select keyboard and click "Remove device".
    3. Click on add device. On the "Add a device" screen, click Bluetooth.
    4. Press link button on keyboard until the channel 2 light is on and press again until blinking.
    5. Wait until the keyboard shows up on the "Add a device" list, then click on it.
    6. At this point one of the following things will happen:
      1. I am asked to add a PIN on the keyboard (don't forget to press enter) then it says your done. Go to 7.
      2. I am asked "Try connecting again".  Sometimes it works. After trying 3 times, I reboot the computer (in this case a new DELL XPS 13 2in1) and then start at item 1. again.
    7. At this point one of the following things will happen:
      1. The keyboard shows up on the "Mouse, Keyboard and Pen" list as Connected. Done!
      2. The keyboard shows up on the "Mouse, Keyboard and Pen" list as Paired. Try pressing the link button on the keyboard until channel 2 light is on and wait up to a minute or so, if it shows up on the list as Connected: **Done!**If not, go to item 2.
      3. The keyboard does not show up on the "Mouse, Keyboard and Pen" list: Go to item 2.

The mouse that came with it connects automatically every time. I would like the the keyboard to do the same. Windows 10 home says it is up to date. Windows says the drivers are the best drivers for the device. Dell website says I have the most updated drivers. I am still trying to figure out if this is a Windows 10 Home (ver. 2004) issue or DELL hardware/software issue. I was on Dell support call for three hours mostly on hold as each of the three or four people I talked to said they would forward me to the person who could best solve my issue. After 3 hours, I hung up.

Any suggestions of what I should try or due now would be appreciated,

    Peter

I'm having pretty much the same issue. I'm using an Azio Classic BT keyboard & it consistently disconnects from my computer. About every 30 seconds or so, the keyboard becomes disconnected from the computer. About every 10 minutes or so, whatever I have that's BT'd to the computer stutters drastically. The mouse pointer will stutter, if I'm using headphones the music will stutter & the keyboard will disconnect completely. I'm pretty much at my wits end as I fear it's the actual BT on my PC as opposed to the separate devices.

Everything is updated & drivers are all current.

I wish I could say I'm pulling my hair out but that's been gone so....
