I've been experiencing quite a few BSOD as of late, and cannot seem to pinpoint the issue. The computer will crash to the blue screen at seemingly random times. Sometimes it will crash while idle after 5 min of boot time, sometimes it crashes after 30-60 min of gaming.

The Latest BSOD I've been receiving can be seen below:

Here are my system specs:

  • Win 10 with all latest updates
  • Asus Prime X570-P
  • Ryzen 5900x
  • Nvidia 2070 Super
  • M.2 SSD
  • BIOS has been updated to latest versioning available
  • I'm not running any OCs on my RAM or CPU
  • 750W PSU

I think at this point I'm beginning to think it is caused by software, just need help pinpointing what might be causing it.

My guy, you are the best. wanted to let you know the PC has been fixed and this can be closed. It must be hard to help internet strangers so, I applaud your efforts.

The issue ended up being two things:

    1. The user had 4 sticks of ram, 1 of which had gone bad. We eliminated that via MEMTEST86
    2. The user was running a 5900x on an AMD stock cooler intended for 3000 series low end CPU. It was overheating! Replacing with a proper aftermarket cooler and its much more stable now.

The last minidump also doesn't mention drivers as the cause of the crash.

I await your update on whether or not the system is stable after updating the Chipset driver.

Thank you for the additional details, I'm following now.

I went ahead and downloaded and installed the following

AMD Chipset driver V4.07.13.2243 For Windows 10/11 64-bit.

I am awaiting the next crash and will follow up with an additional post at that time, with updated logs.

It did crash once again, with a new error DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION - but this was before I reinstalled the chipset driver mentioned above. I went ahead and attached the crash log from that just incase it is helpful.

I noticed that your BIOS is on the latest version. That's why I only suggested checking the XMP/DOCP profile and updating the Chipset driver.

Did you update the Chipset driver?

Even if you're not sure if it's up to date or not, you can download the installer for the latest version and run it. In many cases, even if the latest driver is already installed, this will reinstall the driver. And that's actually a good thing because if the driver is damaged, this will fix it.

If the BSOD persists after doing this, send the latest minidumps.
