Cardholder Name doesn't match the info on the card

I tried using my debit card to sign up for the Azure free account and I got the following error message at the Cardholder Name input box to Check the info you entered. It doesn't match the info for this card. I typed in the correct Cardholder name and still the same error message. Thank you.

I am facing the same issue with my debit cards. I have tried both Federal Bank and SBI debit card - none of them worked.

It is very sad to face the "Cardholder Name" issue on the big Azure portal and support is also very poor. HDFC is one of the popular internal banks. It is not accepting their debit card. I have never faced this kind of silly issue with any other cloud providers.

Even I too got fed up with these issues. I am a Microsoft Certified Trainer. I have to train students on Azure. But guess what?
I cannot subscribe. So, embarrassing.

Dear team, please try to give at least a PayPal option or Stripe.

Hi All,

The reason this error comes up is because the card (debit/credit) that you are trying to authenticate isn't eligible for international usage. Even though it might be printed on your card "International debit/credit card", by default international usage is disabled. So, first go to your bank portal and enable it. Also enable online transactions. If any queries, reach out to your bank.

I had the same issue and after doing the above steps, I was able to create my free account.

Make sure that the details you are entering are same both in "signup page" and "subcription page". It works in an instant that way. ( i too had tried for day and nothing worked other than this)

Though Credit card is only working in India.

I used the advice from above. You need to ensure that your card is able to accept payments from abroad. You will need to change this on your banking app and make changes to your card settings.

It will then work!!! Yay!!

You have to do payment with only credit card. Then you can create your azure account successfully.

Try using your name in all caps. Worked for me.

(Bob Smith -> BOB SMITH)

Hello,

I tried to signup to Azure free account and for that i already use 13 debit(master & visa) card and 3 credit card, but every time "Check the info you entered. It doesn't match the info for this card" this error occured. I already wasted 2 days and i am mentally exhausted by this.
If anyone find solution, please let me know.

yeah, same case with me. Tried 4 cards already. Its very frustrating and their is no support or help from Microsoft to solve this issue.

For a global e-commerce service like VISA accepting only few banks despite providing VISA debit card by other banks like PNB in India which is my case is beyond my acceptance.
A request to Microsoft with this forum to do some urgent initiative to short out the issue which I am experienced.Due to which I was not able to take any azure course for certification.

Hey Folks,

I was even facing the same problem I tried numerous number of cards and all those were visa , Mastercard (SBI, HDFC, CANARA, ICICI) and that too they were eligible for international transaction still was not able to access the free account.
Later on I used credit card and it worked, its better to use credit card instead of debit.
