Node.JS JavaScript Runtime pops up from time to time

Hello,

Recently, I have noticed something that I hadn't noticed before.

Occasionally, a command prompt flashes up on my screen.

An icon gets added to the Taskbar, which only stays for a couple of seconds.

This last time, I was able to right-click on it before it disappeared and pinned it to Task Bar so I could identify it.

It is Node.JS JavaScript Runtime.

So, obviously some script is being triggered by something and getting executed.

Is this a normal activity in Windows 10?

I have not personally installed or ever used Node.js, so I am wondering where it came from.

Should I be concerned?

If so, what steps should I take?

Thanks

Tony C

    Hi ,

I am Ivan, I will help you with this.

Well, this process is a Node.Js and third-party software used for development or applications that used this software as a basis for running the script.

If you download Autoruns, extract the file and open it, take a screenshot and post it here.

In this case, you can uninstall it or check if it is from a third-party application using Autoruns to check the location and analyze it with MSRT as a precaution.

    MSRT

After the analysis, open the command prompt (admin) and run the commands: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

Then perform a clean boot and if you want to uninstall applications that you do not use.

    Hi ,

It is possible to be from Adobe, but if possible, access the login tab and take a screenshot and post it here and from the task scheduler.

    Hi ,

Sorry, select all and disable the task scheduler.

    Do you have Node.Js installed?
