Duplicate Display not working

Hi,

Since yesterday I've been having problems with my Wacom in display settings. The connection is just fine but the display is wrong. I'm used to a Duplicate display setup with my main monitor's screen showing on my monitor and tablet. But when I connect my tablet now, it automatically goes to Extend display, and when I try to change it to Duplicate Display, the screen flashes for a couple seconds and says it's connected, until I press keep changes to which it goes back to Extend display.

My graphics resolution is 3840x2160 on my main monitor, the driver type is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 and the monitor is a Benq PD3200 any my Wacom is a Cintiq 16 at 1920x1080. The latest version is windows is 2025-06 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5063060).

I've already tried the following fixes to no success:

  • Reinstalled + updated NVIDIA drivers
  • Reinstalled + updated Wacom drivers
  • Uninstalled latest Windows update
  • Deleted drivers briefly from device manager
  • Used Win+P to select duplicate option, setting won't hold
  • Went into Registry editor to delete GraphicsDrivers folder. An error message popped up saying "Cannot delete GraphicsDrivers: Error while deleting key" - I restarted anyway with the same result, and trying to bypass that error bluescreened my computer. (I have it working again but the display issue is still there)

I tried calling Microsoft customer support this morning to help and they responded by hanging up on me, twice.

What else do I try? Can anyone give me a solution that hasn't been listed here? Am I missing something obvious? I'm pretty certain this is a driver issue as it still registers both monitors, and the pen on my tablet works as usual.

Thank you, any support is appreciated.

Hi Stars, Haha, I absolutely love that you asked but I’ve got to admit, I’m not much of a cook myself, so I don’t have a chicken noodle soup recipe to share! If I did, I’d definitely pass it along, but in this case, you’re probably better off asking someone who actually knows their way around a kitchen!

That said, I’m still here if you need any tech help in the future. Appreciate your humor and your kind attitude! :)

    Warmly,

    Cherrelyn

Heheh yeah, no worries Cherrelyn. It's sweet of you to say though.

Don't you think AI tools have become super advanced lately? I'm not that well versed, mind you. Could you list a couple of them for me?

Hehe yeah, they’ve definitely gotten more advanced! I’ve heard of a few tools here and there like ones that help with writing or creating stuff from prompts but I haven’t really used them myself. If you're curious though, you can totally just Google something like “popular AI tools” and a bunch will come up. Might be fun to explore and see what catches your interest!
