This browser is no longer supported.
Upgrade to Microsoft Edge to take advantage of the latest features, security updates, and technical support.
I use VISUAL STUDIO CODE as my Python IDE. Now, when I click on the TERMINAL button (on the top toolbar) to request a NEW terminal screen, VSC freezes, (perhaps it cannot find the TERMINAL program?) After 10 seconds, an error message is issued requesting that I restart VSC or shut it down.
It used to work without a problem but now I cannot run any code.
I reinstalled VSC and the same problem persists.
Thanks in advance to all who reply.

Hello,
Glad that you found answer to your question on Q&A.
It's fine to post your thread on Q&A for VS Code, as this forum is for VS Code as well (for everything related to VS).
Bobhe,
I finally got my answer at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/2157010/how-to-fix-visual-studio-code-terminal-button
I never would have found the VSC setting to change without their help so henceforth this will be my VSC goto site!
I will, however, bookmark your suggestion so thanks for your followup and the tip!
Dan
As I understand it, Visual Studio is not quite the same as Visual Studio Code, so why doesn't MS sponsor a separate forum for VSC?
