Hi,

I exported this file in Task Scheduler & I’m trying to import it back but I get the error “task scheduler service is not available task scheduler will attempt to reconnect to it”

Any help would be grateful.

Thanks

Che

None of the above recommendations worked. All I want to do is import an xml file into task scheduler.

Everything else is working on task scheduler apart from importing the xml file.

    Hi,

The restart option is greyed out & I’ve already tried to run administrator.

Hello, Kriptic Kaoz,Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Thanks for your feedback,  I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with importing the Group Policy Cache.XML file in Task Scheduler. This error message usually indicates that the Task Scheduler service is not running or has stopped working.

To resolve this issue, you can try restarting the Task Scheduler service. Here are the steps to do so:

    1. Press the Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
    2. Type "services.msc" and press Enter.
    3. Scroll down to find the "Task Scheduler" service.
    4. Right-click on the service and select "Restart".
    5. Wait for the service to restart and try importing the file again.

If the issue persists, you can also try running the Task Scheduler as an administrator. Here are the steps to do so:

    1. Right-click on the Task Scheduler icon in the Start menu.
    2. Select "Run as administrator".
    3. Try importing the file again.

If the above suggestions did not resolve your issue, this problem may require support from a specific professional field. You may consider consulting Microsoft Learn, where experts might better understand how to solve your problem.

I hope your problem will be resolved soon.
