Please show the Display settings for Scale, that is what we need to know.,

This one is failing because it is set to 150%. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

On Feb 14, 2025, Microsoft put this comment on the blog for Build 26120.3281. Unfortunately, it is not completely accurate.

It worked on one machine but not on another with the same exact build#.

    From MS blog:

    • Fixed an issue causing the see more ā€œā€¦ā€ menu in the command bar to open in the wrong direction for some resolutions.

Now they have the same 24H2 Build 26120.3281 in Beta and Dev.

Unfortunately, I sawĀ different bugs on the 2 channels.Ā OnĀ oneĀ machineĀ on BetaĀ channel,Ā it seemedĀ to have fixed the 3 dots F.E. menu, but itĀ wasĀ still broken onĀ anotherĀ machineĀ in Dev channel with the same exact build#.

Also,Ā in BetaĀ IĀ hadĀ the new bug closing File Explorer whileĀ in DevĀ iĀ didĀ not. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

After some more testing, I figured out the difference forĀ this Build 26120.3281.

ItĀ was caused by one of those experimental features that was enabled on Beta on one machine and not on Dev on another machine.

The feature is the one that added the labels under the icons in the context menu of 23H2, which is really not needed in 24H2, because those labels are already added without that experimental feature.

With this build, that same feature seems to fix one problem (3 dots menu) but adds the second problem for the F.E. not closing just with a click on the red X, it now requires click + hover away from the red X button to close F.E. 🤣🤣

"Short blanket" story again, fix one a break another.

    Typical MS mess. šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«šŸ¤¬šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

can you please tell me how to turn off this experimental feature ?

    @chandandas3025,

There is an easy solution, but Microsoft is ignoring the FBH reports.

The problem was added when they enabled an experimental feature that was supposed to fix a completely different problem.

As a result, instead of fixing what they were trying to fix, they ended up adding this ridiculous bug.

This is the culprit for this bug and unfortunately it is enabled in the ImageDefault of all 24H2 builds and also Canary.

All you need to do is disabling this useless attempted fix and that eliminates the 3 dots menu annoying bug. šŸ˜‰

This is becoming the most ridiculous bug, and Microsoft is completely ignoring that it was added when they enabled this useless attempted fix which doesn't fix anything at all. šŸ¤£šŸ¤£šŸ¤¬šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

You can see here that it opens correctly when that feature/fix is disabled, even with Scale of 150%. šŸ˜ŽšŸ˜‰
