Desktop Outlook email editor not working

Microsoft 365 / Windows 10 Pro / Outlook Desktop

Today, when I try to compose an email, the editor fails to operate properly.

When the editor window opens (New Email) and then I start typing, the cursor disappears. On continued typing sometimes text will appear around 6 lines down, but then disappear when I press enter.

Issue does not resolve if I select Plain Text, Rich Text or HTML.

I have tried full repair of Microsoft 365 and also installed all Windows updates.

Other programs (e.g. Word, Edge, Outlook web) are working fine.

Any suggestions?

    Looks like they're working on it.
    We’re investigating an issue with email message visibility in Outlook. Outlook on the web appears to be unaffected. More details can be found under EX255650 in the admin center.

    Hi @David Whittle ,

    As I know, Microsoft engineer team has recognized this issue and is working hard to fix it. If you are a Microsoft 365 admin, it's recommended to follow the relevant information in message center of admin portal to get the latest update.

    I will continue to monitor them, and if there are any updates, I would post back.

    The deployment of our fix is progressing as expected and we continue to anticipate that it'll complete on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 by 3:00 AM UTC.
