    Hi JimTurner_0612

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

Based on your description, I understand that your new computer seems to be stuck on creating a PIN, which prevents you from accessing the system smoothly, and I understand very well how you feel!

In this case, I would recommend that you temporarily skip networking and enter the system while your new computer is being activated, and then set the PIN from within the system.

Below is a step-by-step procedure I've written that I hope will help you.

    1. Start by unplugging your network cable and restarting your computer.

After restarting your computer, you should be returned to the “Is this the correct country?” page.

    1. “Shift + f10” to open the command prompt. Some laptops may be “Fn + Shift + F10”.
    2. Enter the following command OOBE\BYPASSNRO

The computer will reboot after the command is executed

    1. We will follow the system guide and in the “Let us connect you to the network” screen, we need to select “I don't have an Internet connection”.
    2. Then click on “Continue with Restricted Settings”.
    3. Follow the instructions to complete the setup and try to skip the PIN code during the setup process.

On top of that, let's say you can't go back to the previous setup screen and frequently get stuck on the PIN setup screen. At this point, I suggest you contact Lenovo's branded after-sales or technical support and ask them to inform you of the brand's unique reset method to reset the system to its initial state. Then setup and enter the system from scratch, or better yet, skip oobe.

We can also try to have the Lenovo brand-side after-sales or technical support team remotely assist you to activate the device and enter the system smoothly.

I sincerely hope the above information helps you. Thank you for your understanding, I really appreciate it!

    Best Regards

Hi Jim, you should have been able to skip the pin. See: Change or reset your PIN - Microsoft Support (and If you see I forgot my PIN)

As this is a new computer you should not have any problem resetting to factory conditions so that you can start again as a new user Reset your PC - Microsoft Support

    Thank you for your reply

I attempted the code...OOBE/BYPASSNRO and received the following message, 'OOBE is not recognized as an external or internal command, operable program or batch file

I also tried the commend combinations...

    00BE/BYPASSNRO

    00BE/BYPASSNR0

    OOBE/BYPASSNR0

    Hi Jim,

It seems like the command syntax you used didn't work as expected. The correct command is OOBE\BYPASSNRO (note the backslash between OOBE and BYPASSNRO). It’s crucial that it's typed exactly as shown.

If you still see the error message, it could be due to a typo or incorrect key sequence. Try again using this exact format:

    1. After restarting your computer, press Shift + F10 to open the Command Prompt.
    2. Type the command OOBE\BYPASSNRO and press Enter.
    3. The system should reboot automatically and allow you to proceed with the setup.

If this doesn't resolve the issue, and you’re still unable to bypass the PIN setup, your next step would be to reset the PC to factory settings.

I sincerely hope that the above information will help you!

I have retried the procedure using your suggestion and the Create PIN still comes up and will not allow me to proceed.
