Hello,

I've come across this issue a lot recently where this PowerShell window pops up about every 15 minutes telling me to update it. I have already installed the new PowerShell 7 and uninstalled the old one.

Any advice for this, its very irritating!

Zachary, if you are still experiencing issues,

Open task manager > Select the Startup tab > If you find Windows Powershell (or) Terminal in the lists, right-click on it and select disabled.

Next, Open services > Find "Windows update" services in the lists > Right-click on it and select the properties to Disabled and Click Stop.

Once the Windows update service is disabled, type 'Turn Windows features on or off' in the search bar on the taskbar, Find Windows PowerShell 2.0 in the lists, untick and click ok.

Restart your computer. If the issue has been fixed, you can enable Windows update services again later.

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.

    Best regards,

    Gunasekar N

    Zachary,

Could you please try re-installing your current version of Windows and check if it helps?

    a. Go to Settings > System > Recovery.

    b. Select Re-install now on 'Fix problems using Windows update'.

    c. Check if you are experiencing the same issue after the recovery process.
