Hello,

I've come across this issue a lot recently where this PowerShell window pops up about every 15 minutes telling me to update it. I have already installed the new PowerShell 7 and uninstalled the old one.

Any advice for this, its very irritating!

I don't have the option to do that, this computer is on my company's domain, so it looks like I do not have access.

    Zachary,

If you do not have this option, you can next try running the command lines on the Command prompt (Admin) window and check if it helps.

    1. Open the command prompt as administrator.
    2. Type or paste the command lines one by one below and click enter.

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealthDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealthDISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealthsfc /scannow

(Each command takes a few minutes to complete)

    Once completed, restart your computer.

If you are still experiencing issues, the problem is likely due to a system glitch, which can typically be resolved by performing a system update or a system reset (without affecting your personal files).

I hope this information helps. If you have any questions, please let me know and I will be happy to help you further.

    Best regards,

    Gunasekar N

Gunasekar, it looks like running those commands in the terminal and restarting fixed my problem. PowerShell hasn't popped up asking to update.

    Thank you so much!

Actually, everything seemed fine for about two days and I started getting the install message window again.

I have the same problem and even tried to uninstall powershell. Avast says there's a trojan in the latest update, but quarantining doesn't seem to help.
