Is it possible for to set a pin policy for smart card login? We are using PIV cards (OpenFIPS201) in a Windows 10 A/D.
The PIV standard specifies 6-8 digits, however we would like to enforce 8-digit PIN values via policy if possible.
I have reviewed the Smart Card Group Policy and Registry Settings page but there is no mention of this. Is this not supported or is the setting in another area?

Hi Kim - did you find a solution to force the 8 character PIN when a user changes it?
Hi Cathy, no there is no way to do it via windows policy for non-Hello authentication. In the end the only solution was to create a minidriver and then control policy via custom registry settings.

The PIN policy needs to be set on the card itself, not on the OS. If you set it on the OS, I take the card home and change the PIN at home.
We set our PIN policy using the middleware for it. It's a safenet ID prime card. Other cards including the usual suspect "Yubikey" don't even support PIN policies "on-card" at all.
