Hi experts
Can I use the SQL Server Developer 2019 that we use in our development environment to validate the integrity of a backup file using VERIFYONLY, without violating the licensing clauses?

Hi @Jose Marcelo Dias de Oliveira ,

I think it is feasible to verify the integrity of backup files for development purposes in a non-production environment.
But I am not a licensing expert, suggest you call 1-800-426-9400, Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. (Pacific Time) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. For international customers, please use the https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/licensing/worldwide to find contact information in your locations. For Volume Licensing Service Support, please use the https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/licensing/contact-us to contact information for your country.

    Best Regards,
    Amelia

No, there are no licensing experts in this forum.

If you want an authorative answer, you will need to contact your local Microsoft representative, or call a certain number between 9:00-18:00 Pacific time. (Which I don't know by heart, but someone else will post those details later.)

Then again, you are permitted to restore the database to dev for testing etc. Then again, if you restore it only for verifying production? Hm...
