Error code: Wsl/ERROR_NOT_FOUND

Windows installed the update KB5032339 and WSL 2.0.9.0, and since then, I can not access WSL.

The error was the one indicated in the title of the question. I cannot work, because all of my work depends on WSL and I need docker desktop, which also depends on WSL.

I searched everywhere; it seems that I am not the only one with this problem. I tried uninstalling WSL and installing an older version, but the problem remains.

How can I solve this, or is Microsoft going to release an update to fix this problem?

    If you (like me) have this problem and find this thread, a short summary (not a Tutorial) so far ( as of 24.11.2023 ).

    Please read the whole comment before trying any of it!

    • Github Link to the problem is: https://github.com/microsoft/WSL/issues/10782
    • Workaround:
      • Start WSL from an Elevated Terminal
      • So in "normal" language: Start your CMD/terminal with Admin Privileges then run the "WSL" command in this Terminal
    • Manual Fix:
      • Type "regedit" in the Windows search and start Windows Registry Editor
      • Search and delete:
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PackagedCom\ClassIndex{A9B7A1B9-0671-405C-95F1-E0612CB4CE7E}
    • Official Fix:
