No buffer using command prompt for telnet Windows 11

Hello,

I notice when using Command Prompt in Windows11 that after you telnet to a device there is no buffer(can't scroll back to previous output). If I just stay within command prompt everything works fine and the buffer is there. This never was the case with Windows10. Is there a workaround for this issue? Can a defect/bug be opened against this? Thank you.

Ryan

    Hello RyanZX,

Good to see you in Microsoft Community.

Firstly, could you let me know the specific system version? You can check it by pressing the Win key + R key, and typing "winver", then press Enter, please take a screenshot/photo of it, and only send the relevant information without PII in the next reply.

Did you try the telnet connections in Power Shell? "Win" logo key + "Q" to open Search box*, type "Power Shell", select "Run as administrator", and try the telnet connection.*

Or you can try to use the Command Prompt legacy console by following the steps below. Run Command Prompt as administrator, then right click on the top title bar > Settings*, then set* Default profile to Command Prompt*, then restart all* Command Prompt windows, then right click at the top of the newly opened Command Prompt window > Properties > Options tab **** , then check "Use legacy console", click "OK" to save the settings, restart the Command Prompt window, and try telnet again.

If anything is unclear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best Regards,
