Seeing as Windows update ended in 2016, you should already have 2014 updates installed.
In my original reply I advised you that unless you had done a reinstall there were no Windows Updates after 2016.
You never replied to counter that you were having any other problems.
The error code you got is a common one when an operating system is also Out of Support and even for Windows 8 Microsoft Store being closed.
I wonder what could be the point in talking someone out of installing the December 2014 update rollup for Windows RT, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012.
