Error 0x00000709 when adding shared printer

After getting fast fibre to the house, new router etc. I had a go at connecting a shared printer again. Same error message as before.

Can somebody explain to me why MS cannot fix this?

In any other business if a fault is highlighted a number of times the manufacturer would put out a fix?

I appreciate all the assistance the community give but why is it down to you guys or am I missing something.

I have no programming skills, I purchase a product and expect it to work.

In this case it worked for years until something happened last year.

Thanks for the assistance. The regedit was correct but I retyped it anyway but no change.

I will work through your other suggestions and get back to you.

    Best regards
