Please!

I have got an error code of 0x80004005 from my window setting activation page. My window is activated as Windows 10 pro before but now in Edition shown is Windows 10 Enterprise on that page. How it has happened I don't know because I do many troubleshooting and tutorial videos on YouTube to solve my blue screen error of Blue screen Stop code: "KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE" message appears and suddenly restart my pc. Then my Windows 10 pro activation is lost and my windows also become Windows 10 Enterprise even I have never reinstall my Windows. I also don't want to reset my PC. So, I have got in trouble with this problem and I have no idea to solve it. Please help me with something!

                                                          I hope for a solution!

                                                                                 Thanks!

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are facing issues with Windows activation and bluescreen errors

In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

    • Have you upgraded any hardware components on the device?
    • Do you use any non-Microsoft anti-virus software?
    • Are you aware of any recent changes on the PC prior to the bluescreen error?

Since you purchased the license from a third-party vendor, you might need to contact them. However, I would suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below and check if the issue persists:

    1. Press Windows + R keys to open Run command box
    2. Type services.msc and click on OK
    3. Find Software Protection service and Start/Restart it
    4. Restart your PC and check if the issue persists:

Refer to the link given below to fix bluescreen errors:

    Troubleshoot blue screen errors (microsoft.com)

    Additional information:

To find original Windows OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) license key:

    1. In Windows search box, type Command Prompt
    2. Right click on it and Run as administrator
    3. Copy and paste the following command and hit Enter key

    wmic path softwarelicensingservice get OA3xOriginalProductKey

    ****We await your response.

    Hi neilpzz,

I bought my window 10 pro digital licence from another source in our country and it is not the original windows of my pc. I think that the product key may not be from Microsoft. Because it is very cheap if compare with official Microsoft store windows 10 pr price. Because of that licence, I have got many problems with windows now. Did you mean this to do? Thanks for your help![![](https://learn-attachment.microsoft.com/api/attachments/3c621ff8-d609-47a1-9889-c730647bc739?platform=QnA

If you currently have Windows 10 Enterprise and using the generic key for Pro doesn't return Windows 10 to Windows 10 Pro then you may have to clean install Windows 10 Pro for it to activate with the licence.

Where did the original Windows 10 Pro licence come from, did you purchase the licence separately from the computer or was it a free upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.

Was the licence from Microsoft or another source.

To check the licence open PowerShell (Admin) and enter slmgr /dlv press return. Post back an image of the result.

    hi neilpzz,

Thanks for your advice but that issue can't solve my problem. That product key doesn't work and windows just give an error code and say to try another product key. But in any way, thanks for your kindness.

If the device had a valid Windows 10 Pro licence then using the generic Windows 10 Pro key may change it back to Pro edition from Enterprise.

Enter VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T at Settings > Update and security > Activation > Change product key. After a restart check the edition again.
