Cannot select from Navigation bar in Visual studio

In Visual studio Community 2019 I cannot select from the navigation bar to jump to code.
This started when I upgraded to Version 16.10.0.

I have the same issue since version 16.10.0. Still not solved in 16.10.1.
It's pretty hard to work without that.

Unbelieveable they didn't fix this BUG in VS2019 16.10.2. Did nobody at Microsoft work with that. I'm shocked.

I really hope someone at Microsoft can fix this issue urgently. I've got a huge project and finding it extremely difficult to proceed with the workaround

Feedback on problems in VS should be posted to the VS feedback that was linked to earlier. VS team doesn't fix bugs reported from here.

note that the final update for VS 2019 is in preview. After that there will be no more updates to VS 2019 short of hotfixes for serious issues, most likely. Therefore this is unlikely to get fixed unless enough people vote on the issue in the Feedback hub linked earlier.

It seems that the status of this issue is now “Fixed — Pending Release”, therefore it will be probably available in next update.

By the way, while the alternative is used as a workaround, maybe someone will find it even more convenient than the dropdown lists.

It works for non-fields but not fields. This might be a bug. I recommend you use the Report a Problem tool in VS to demonstrate this problem and report it to MS so they can respond.

Note that I believe the behavior has changed in that it may not work unless the document is open. This could be tied to the perf changes they have been making to not worry about documents that aren't loaded but the MS team should be able to weigh in. In my case it wasn't even showing fields in the same file.

There seems to have been some changes in the way to use the drop downs in latest version(s) - I am using 2022 Community 64bit. I had previously critisised what I perceived to be a missing drop down but it seems it is just a different method to get there (as far as I can remember).

In the OP image, and using a similar piece of code:
I added a BackGroundWorker1 to an existing projct code. With an event handler for DoWork.
Now I need to select the Control in one dropDown and then select the event from the second DropDown (in this case, BackGroundWorker1 and DoWork), and the editor jumps to the code block.

In VS 2019 I used to just click on the code and the comboxes would select the component and event automatically, now it doesn't do that which sucks - more clicks required.
For example: I would click on the code for Button2_Click which looks something like this:

Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click 'Do something End Sub

and the component combobox would select Button2 and the event combobox would show Click event.

Ah yes, that was how it was - you jogged my memory. That's why I couldn't remember as it was just a one click thing.
