it is very strange those games are reporting an Xbox controller is present on your PC, but is Windows indicating you have a controller connected in the Devices section in the Settings app?

Can somebody please tell me why there is an xbox controller connected to my pc but no controller is plugged in (and i don't own a xbox controller)

Please provide a screenshot of where you are seeing the controller in games.
Open the Settings app, then go to the Devices section, is that game controller listed there?

Does anyone around or near you use an Xbox controller, even a neighbor, your PC may be picking up that controller wirelessly, where are you seeing the controller, is it in the Connect a Device section in the Settings app?
