I have been using icloud email on pc with windows 11 for last 6 months without an issue. 72 hrs ago sync stopped working on all folders and i have not been able to receive or send emails from my pc with this Email account.

I have a seperate hotmail account that still works on the pc and the icloud account still works on my phone.

The message that goes with the error code states that there is a certificate issue - ive altered settings on email account to remove certificate check without any success.

Seriously frustrating and urgently need to access some of the attachments to emails that i cannot see on my phone

can anyone offer some advice

    Hi Lee Hutchinson2,

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

May I ask if you use Outlook or the Mail application of Windows when you see this error?

If 0x80072f19 is indeed a certificate problem as you said, would you please confirm that the Settings you changed are listed in Internet Options?

I think you can refer to the image below to turn off the check certificate Settings temporarily to see the effect:

    1. Click Search on the taskbar and type in Internet Options
    2. Once the Settings are open, click the "Advanced" TAB and uncheck the options in the diagram

Another option is to delete your iCloud account from your Mail app or Outlook and add it again to see if it works.

If there is anything unclear, please don't hesitate to tell me at any time.

    Best Regards,

ok deleted accont and re-instated and still get the same error message "theres a problem with the certificate for imap.mail.me.com:xxx:1.

Looking at the advanced settings for the account this certificate is the "incoming email server"

ive tried everything you have suggested above without success - still get same error message.

Please try click search on the taskbar, input "Internet Options" and open it, click the "advanced" TAB, pull up and down the page window find SSL3.0. TLS, TLS1.1, TLS1.2, TLS1.3 this several Options, and ensure they are checked, Then click OK to close the window and reopen the Mail app to see how it looks.

In addition, I would like to confirm with you whether you deleted your account on the pages of Start menu - Settings - Account - Mailbox and Account.
