Many persistent errors in Event Viewer after Windows 11 build 22598.ni_release.220408-1503: "Autopilot.dll wil error was reported"

I used to be part of the the Windows 11 Insider Beta channel. After updating to build 22598.ni_release.220408-1503 I began to see the same error in Event Viewer extremely frequently:

The errors are all the same and read as follows:

Autopilot.dll WIL error was reported.

HRESULT: 0x80070491

File: onecoreuap\admin\moderndeployment\autopilot\dll\dllmain.cpp, line 128

Message: NULL

I have never used any program called Autopilot or Modern Deployment. After seeing this problem I immediately left the insider program and am now queued for enrollment. However no new Windows update has happened and these errors persist. How do I prevent these errors?

I am also having issues with the same app, but my issues consist of both white, black or simply forzen screens of death - totally frozen computer with no mouse or keyboard response. At least once every two months (and usually less), I have to force power off the computer (A Dell desktop, XPS 8940).

Anyone else having that kind of problem?

    Good day,

I also own an XPS 8940. The freeze issue is all over the Dell forums. I also have (had) the issue. Since the latest BIOS update (2.10) and the latest NVidia driver release my system has gone from freezing 2 or 3 times a week to the current state which is; I have not had a freeze in about a month. If you have not done the BIOS update and the video driver updates I strongly sugest you do. As well as the Windows updates.

This link is to one of many threads in the Dell forums about freezing. https://www.dell.com/community/XPS-Desktops/XPS-8940-constant-freezing/m-p/8142271#M68603

I think my laptop may have crashed trying to recover from hibernation yesterday. I saw the autopilot error then my laptop mysteriously restarted itself. No idea if it's a BSoD. I will hibernate now and see if it happens again after leaving it overnight. Otherwise, I may disable that service.

I think one of the patches gave me such an error. I have not upgraded to 22H2. Should I do that?

Is it just me - but it appears quite a few postings follow the week-end. The trouble a lot of people had a year or two ago with WaasMedic was when it ran every Sunday morning at start-up, is this also more noticeable over the weekend, possibly running Sunday?
