    we cannot copy and paste mentioned .exe from one server to another due to security reason also we dont have rights to do the same because of company policy

    May need to ask the higher powers for a variance to the company policy. Otherwise standing up new one for replacement may be the other option.

    I'd verify system and servicing health by running;
    sfc /scannow

    also system update readiness tool

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-US/troubleshoot/windows-server/deployment/fix-windows-update-errors#resolution-for-windows-7-and-windows-server-2008-r2

    Then check for errors in;
    %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log

    i have not found any CheckSUR.log file

    it wouldn't exist until after the SUR tool completes.

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting on our forum!

    First of all, I agree with the way in the article that @Anonymous gave you. Secondly, I think if you download the latest version of CheckSUR.log file, your Windows update will be working fine. Anyway, just try the way that @Anonymous has offered you, since this method should be the most appropriate one provided by Microsoft.

    Thanks for your support and understanding!

    BR,
    Joan

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply!

    Based on your error code, you can firstly try to switch to a different browser, for example, using IE11. You need to turn off all filtering and install an add-on. Then you can try the ways posted in this article:

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie11-iewindows8_1/windows-update-catalog-error-8ddd0010/ffcd76a1-48d6-432f-a5a7-a2d1084c4efe

    If you still have no way to solve this Microsoft Update Catalog error, you can try the ways in this article to apply another approach to solving your original issue. This article is specifically designed for 2008R2:
