    Hi jennifer deighton

Have a good day and welcome to Microsoft Q&A Forum!

Thank you so much for reaching out, and I’m really sorry you’re experiencing this issue. I know how frustrating and stressful it can be when you’re just trying to get set up with Microsoft 365 and keep running into roadblocks with your payment information. You’re definitely not alone. This is something that happens to others as well, and I’m here to help you through it.

There are a few common reasons why your payment details might not be going through:

    1. Sometimes, even a small mismatch in your card number, expiration date, CVV, or billing address can cause the system to reject your info.
    2. Certain cards may not be supported, or your bank might have placed a temporary hold on online or international transactions.
    3. Occasionally, browser issues (like saved data or extensions) can interfere with the payment process.
    4. And sometimes, there may be a temporary glitch on Microsoft’s end.

Here are a few notes about the payment issues: Add a new bank or credit card to your Microsoft account - Microsoft Support.

Here are a few steps you can try that often help resolve this:

    1. Carefully check your payment details: Double-check that everything matches exactly what’s on your card and with your bank, including your billing address.

    2. Try a different payment method: If you have another card or a different payment option, it might be worth trying that.

    3. Clear your browser’s cache or use a different browser: Sometimes, just switching browsers or using incognito/private mode can make a difference.

    4. Contact your bank: It’s a good idea to check with your bank to make sure your card is active and allowed for online or international purchases.

I completely understand how inconvenient this is, especially when you just want to get started. If you’ve tried all these steps and are still stuck, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Microsoft Support. They have access to more tools and can look into your account directly.

Please go ahead and try the steps above at your convenience. If you still can’t get past this stage after trying them, just reply to this message and let me know. I’ll be more than happy to walk you through the process of creating a support ticket with Microsoft, or even help you step-by-step to make sure you get the assistance you need.

Once again, you’re not alone in this. I’m here to help until it’s resolved!

Thank you for your patience, and please let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help. I’m here for you!

If purchased direct from MS as part of the process of creating the MS Account associated with that purchase you give the bank details and the install commences with a progress window.

I suspect that you have failed to uninstall a pre-installed o365 Family Trial, which you do via win add/remove dialogue
