How can I share my entire screen in a Team's meeting and exclude the Team's controls so participants don't see their own video.

If I share my entire screen and want to view participant video then the participants also see themselves which is annoying.

I'm sorry to confirm that currently, Microsoft Teams does not offer a built-in option to share your entire screen while excluding the Teams meeting controls or participant video tiles. This behavior is expected when sharing the full desktop, as everything visible on your screen, including the Teams interface, is also visible to participants.

However, there are a few workarounds you can consider:

Share a specific window instead of your entire screen

When you click Share, choose the “Window” option instead of “ Entire Screen”.
- Open the content you want to present in a separate window and share only that.
This prevents the Teams interface (including participant video) from being visible to others.

Use a dual-monitor setup

Run the Teams meeting on one screen (with participant video and controls).
Share the second screen, which contains only the content you want to present.
This keeps the Teams interface off the shared screen entirely.

Minimize or move the Teams window

If you must share your full screen, you can minimize or move the Teams meeting window to a corner or second display before sharing.
This reduces the visibility of participant video tiles and controls during the presentation.

At this time, Microsoft Teams does not offer a built-in feature to share your entire screen while excluding the Teams interface or participant video tiles. This behavior is expected when sharing the full desktop—everything visible on your screen, including the Teams UI, will be visible to participants.

While there are workarounds, such as sharing a specific window, using a dual-monitor setup, or minimizing the Teams window, this specific functionality is not currently listed as an active feature in development based on publicly available Microsoft documentation.

According to the Manage meeting policies for content sharing (Microsoft Learn, updated May 30, 2025), Teams administrators can configure policies that control how users share content during meetings. These include:

ScreenSharingMode: Allows full desktop sharing, single application sharing, or disables sharing entirely.

PowerPoint Live, Whiteboard, Collaborative Annotations, and Shared Notes: These are per-user policies that control access to specific presentation tools.

Live Share and Document Collaboration: Enable real-time co-authoring within the meeting window.

However, none of these settings currently allow presenters to share their full screen while hiding the Teams interface or participant video tiles from attendees.
