I have my own personal Teams account and 2 business accounts provided by companies that I work for and can switch between them on my PC. On my Android mobile I am unable to add the third account (second business account) and get the error message 5objn. I tried deinstalling and reinstalling Teams which cleared some other problems, but not this one.

It seems that you are encountering an issue while trying to add a third account to Microsoft Teams on your Android device. The error message "5objn" is not specifically detailed in the provided context, but it may be related to account management or the limitations of the Teams app on mobile devices.

Microsoft Teams for mobile does support multiple work or school accounts, but if you're facing difficulties, it might be due to the app's handling of multiple accounts or a restriction related to your specific accounts. Here are some general steps you can try:

    1. Ensure that your mobile app is updated to the latest version.
    2. Try logging out of all accounts and then logging back in with the accounts you want to use.
    3. If the issue persists, consider checking if there are any specific policies from your organizations that might restrict adding multiple accounts.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to reach out to Microsoft support or your IT department for further assistance.

Is multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled for the second business account? - Yes

Have you successfully signed into that account on other apps (like Outlook or OneDrive) on the same mobile device? - Yes, Outlook

When you try to add the third account, does the error appear immediately, or only after entering credentials? It appears as soon as I enter the e-mail address

Is the second business account you're trying to add from a different organization than the first one? yes

Have you tried to sign in multiple account by another mobile device? Not from another mobile device

I tried clearing the cache and data and also uninstalling and reinstalling Teams (with a newstart), including different sequences of account installation.

So far as I know this organisation does not use intune or anything similar. This is a small company with 6 members and no in-house IT. The other organisation is a multi-national with 20,000+ and comprehensive IT.

It may be linked to the fact that I previously had a Teams account from this organisation. This account was deleted and a new account was set up using the same e-mail address.

    Dear @Tom in Berlin

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Before giving you the best solution, could you please confirm these questions below to help me diagnose the issue more effectively:

    • Is multi-factor authentication (MFA) enabled for the second business account?
    • Have you successfully signed into that account on other apps (like Outlook or OneDrive) on the same mobile device?
    • When you try to add the third account, does the error appear immediately, or only after entering credentials?
    • Is the second business account you're trying to add from a different organization than the first one?
    • Have you tried to sign in multiple account by another mobile device?

Thanks for sharing the issue you're facing with adding a third account to Microsoft Teams on your Android device. The 5objn error is commonly associated with authentication or account switching failures in Microsoft Teams on mobile devices.

‌In the meantime, here are some recommended solutions I suggest you try:

    Clear App Cache and Data

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Teams > Storage.
    • Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.
    • Restart your device and try adding the account again.

    Update the Teams App

    • Ensure you're using the latest version from the Google Play Store.
    • If not, update or reinstall the app.

    Check Device Compliance

    • If your organization uses Intune or other device management tools, ensure your device is compliant.
    • Visit https://aka.ms/AndroidPortal to verify compliance settings

    Remove and Re-add the Account

    • Delete the problematic business account from your device.
    • Clear Teams app data again.
    • Re-add the account, preferably after signing out of all other accounts.
    1. Open Teams and sign out of all accounts.
    2. Clear cache and data again (repeat Step 1).
    3. Open Teams and sign in with your personal account first.
    4. Add your first business account.
    5. Try adding the second business account again.

    Check Organizational Policies

    • If the error persists, contact your IT admin at the company that provided the second business account.
    • Ask if there are restrictions on adding multiple accounts on mobile devices.

As forum moderator, I don’t have access to the backend systems to troubleshoot this effectively due to privacy and security constraints. For that reason, the most efficient solution would be to contact Microsoft’s support team directly.

I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.

I'm looking forward for your reply.
