Teams - time zone problem

Hi,

i don't understand where Teams gets the time zone of a shared mailbox (with account disabled and unlicensed).

I thought it came from Exchange Online (Time zone settings for shared mailboxes in Outlook on the web - Exchange | Microsoft Docs), but here an example of an anomaly in the time zone of the account on Teams.

In Exchange the settings is:

But if i go to look in the "organization" inside Teams, i find the disabled account and i have this situation for the disabled account corresponding to the shared mailbox:

This indicates that it is 9 hours ahead of the same time zone that i have set on my account.

Also on Azure AD i added the correct regions, so Teams where does it get this value?

Thanks a lot,

Have a nice day

Sergio

    Dear Sergio,

Thank you for your reply. Since you’re in UTC+1, from the second screenshot (you’re 9h ahead), it seems that the shared mailbox is in UTC -8, but it’s in the same time zone as you. I recommend you check other contacts in Teams to confirm if this symptom happens to other contacts and test it in Teams Web App.

If issue continues in Teams Web App, I recommend you submit a service request in Microsoft 365 Admin center for I think it need to be checked on back-end. Please understand that we don’t have permissions to help check further. You can reach our online channel via creating a service ticket, our online channel will further help you address your concern: Get support for Microsoft 365 for business -- Online support.

    Dear Sergio,

Good day! Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community.

According to my test result: Teams will reflect the same time zone (as well as date and time format) as your device's time zone setting. This should work for your own account, which means, if I sign in Teams desktop app or Teams web app, it reflects my device time zone setting.

However, if I check contacts in Teams, Teams reflects the Outlook time zone setting of these contacts. If I set one account to UTC + 0 in Outlook, and set my own (local device) to UTC +1, in Teams I can see the time zone is adjusted to UTC + 1 for my own calendar. But when I check that contact in Teams , it shows this account is 1 hour behind me (I’m 1 hour ahead) in the contact card.

May I know if you’re the same scenario? Or could you share more details, like your local device time zone (UTC+/- [N]) ?

    Sincerely,
