    Dear pankaj mistry,

Good day. Thank you for contacting us.

Based on your description, I understand that you have a concern with "Error 500121 when trying to use the Authenticator app.

Basically, the error code 500121 occurs when authentication failed as part of the multi-factor authentication (MFA) request, it may indicate a configuration or service error.

Please help us in isolating the issue by providing the following information:

    • Have you tried resetting (require re-register) MFA? This I believe may resolve this as it will change the last command that you give to the authentication.
    • Have you tried signing out, forgetting the login, and choosing to login again and select "Other ways to sign in" the login using authenticator instead of the password.
    • Could you please provide a screenshot for further investigation?

Moreover, if the issue persists, as the issue is related to Microsoft Authenticator, I suggest checking with Microsoft Authenticator - Microsoft Q&A for dedicated assistance.

We look forward to hearing from you, please let me know and provide a more detailed description so we can provide you with more specific assistance. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Best regards,

Jade - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist
