    Hello Steven,

    Thank you for the reply.

By default, it is not possible to add a URL in the Teams side bar however if the URL converted into an app, it can be added on Teams side bar. The normal website URLs can only be added in Teams' channel.

To be able to add the website URL as an app in the Teams side bar, it will have to be packaged as custom app. You can use the following article as reference

to upload apps in Microsoft Teams

Upload your custom app - Teams | Microsoft Learn

Since you want to add URLs for Quick access I would recommend creating an organization-wide Teams and add the URLs as a tab in the Teams channels inside the create team for all users.

Everyone in the tenant will be a member if the organization wide team, so I would recommend using organization-wide Teams as everyone will be able to see the URLs

Use organization-wide teams in Microsoft Teams to help everyone collaborate - Microsoft Teams | Microsoft Learn [18d9-ecb7-ad2-23f0]

To add a website Teams channel, you can use the following steps

    1. In Teams application click teams
    2. Click the teams
    3. Select a channel
    4. Select Add a tab Add button.
    5. Select website

    1. Enter the Name and the URL for the website and click save
    2. The website will be shown as bellow in the channel

    Hello Steven,

To add a URL to the Teams sidebar, you would typically need to create a custom app that renders a website, similar to the OneNote app. This process involves packaging the website as an app and then sideloading it into Teams. However, this can be quite complex and may not provide a consistent experience across web and mobile. As an alternative, you can add a website as a tab within a Teams channel. This is done by selecting the '+' icon to add a new tab and choosing the 'Website' option, where you can enter the URL and tab name. For a more detailed guide, there are resources available online that provide step-by-step instructions on how to customize the sidebar in Microsoft Teams. It's important to note that as of July 2024, Microsoft Teams has updated the way Website tabs work, now opening links in a new browser tab for enhanced security. If you're looking to integrate a website more seamlessly, you might consider using SharePoint News Link to display websites within Teams, which involves adding the link as a News Link in SharePoint and then adding it as a tab in Teams. Remember to check if all team members have access to the SharePoint site collection used for this purpose. For any changes made to the sidebar, ensure they align with your organization's policies and Teams admin settings.

    Hope this helps,

    Fathia A
