Excel borders drop down is partially disabled - Why?

I can't find a setting for the life of me that would control this! All of a sudden, the borders drop down is mostly grayed out, with only a few options remaining.  I can still customize borders by right-clicking on a cell or range and choosing "Format Cells.."

Help!

    Hi Jay,

I've just installed 16.10 (180114) and the problem has gone - it works fine now.

    HI Peter,

Thank you!  Interestingly I just got the "we filed a bug and are working on it" about 30 mins ago. Must not be the latest info :)

These fast build miss a lot on quality. I am a bit disappointed. I do not mind a buggy Fast build as long as the bug is not sooooo obvious. I assume basic testing to have been done before a fast build is released and some new functionality is not fully tested in depth. But a border shading breakage means that the build is not tested at all .

Fast builds give you the current state of the product as it is developed. It can have major bugs and minor bugs.

As long as you keep reporting them by clicking the Smile button, Microsoft will keep fixing them.

If you don't want to deal with obvious bugs but still want earlier builds, switch to Insider Slow. At times, Insider Fast builds might not even run!
