I am retired and just bought the top of the range Surface Laptop i7 three years ago. Now Windows 11 is being touted by Microsoft and when I run the PC Health Check, it says my laptop is not compatible? With 16GB memory and Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7660U CPU @ 2.50GHz how come it is not compatible. Does that mean my investment is just a waste?

I too have the Intel Core i7 7660U with Trusted Platform Module chip. I purchased the top of the line Surface Pro in 2017. Microsoft's PC Health Check software confirms that everything but the processor is compatible. Microsoft needs to address this. Many lower spec processors with lower clocks are listed as being compatible. I won't be buying or recommending their products until they explain this.

Does anyone know if Microsoft is responding to these complaints?

I just got my Surface Go One back from being replaced by MS for x2 because i have Geek Squad warranty. It' been replaced twice in past month and a half. Had I not bought the warranty it would be dead with a overheated battery and separating display. MS has to get serious about their SUPPORT.

Now this debacle. Even though my surface go is listed as comapatibilty the software checker says no, due to a particular processor. Likewise mu sister's Surface Pro 5 is showed NOT comapatible. And right next to that is a "SHOP FOR COMPATIBLE" button.

Microsoft will lose their customer base with this kind of behavior and lousy support.

    What happened Microsoft? Please explain.

Here's a link to Microsoft's own support page! Where they list ALL of these models as being good for upgrade. Anyone from Microsoft answered why the Surface Pro 6 is stating it's NOT compatible when their support site says it IS compatible? https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/surface/which-surface-devices-can-be-upgraded-to-windows-11-76c3c125-82e0-4d1e-9550-12ed09f9058e

I also bought a top of the range Surface Pro 6 with an Intel® Core™ i7-7660U 3 years ago....report from the compatibility tool shows the only limit is the supported CPU all other criteria are met including TPM 2.0....please make sure this is supported (I just read other gen 7 Intel chips are supported)
