Hello.
I've just tried adding that same account to Microsoft Outlook Lite android app and I had no issue at all, so I guess I can use it (I do hope it has no significant things missing from the original app).

Hey there.
I'm trying to add my personal e-mail account (@hotmail.com) one Outlook app (version 4.2231.1, downloaded from Google Play Store) on Android 9, but I get the error "An error occourred during authentication. Please try again later"
In phone settings for Outlook app I have set Battery = Don't Optimize, Data usage: Wifi data = On, Cellular data = On, Background data = On, VPN data = On, Unrestricted data usage = On.
I've tried using a different wi-fi network and also mobile data, but nothing changes.
I've tried clearing cache and data of the app and also re-installing it, but nothing changes.
I'm not having any issue with all other apps and that e-mail account is working fine on my computer
What can I do?
Thanks.
Luigi.

Hello.

I have used the regular Outlook app on my iPhone then on my Android phone and have never had any problems receiving all of my emails. I do see that there is a lite version but I would believe that this is to save storage space on your phone. The full Outlook app is free. I was using version 4.2240.2 which I downloaded from the Google Play Store. Just now, I updated it but it still says version 4.2240.2 even though it appeared to update and I restarted my phone. Just delete the lite version, then type Outlook into the Play Store search bar and you will see the regular Outlook available to download. You don't need to use the lite version unless you are almost out of storage space or have an older, slow phone. The regular Outlook takes up 521 MB.
As I wrote in the first post, I have authentication error using the full version
