Authenticator app nightmare

Hello,

I had the authenticator app on my phone for both work and university. But since a recent update it's not worked properly, and now I can't sign in to either Microsoft account even in other devices, meanings I can't get into outlook, calendar, teams so my entire life has become completely stuck. I've upgraded the app, I've system updated and restarted my phone, nothing is working.

If I try to see my emails, I need to first sign in to my account. But to do that, I have to 'Approve sign-in request' in my authenticator app. So I go to my authenticator app, and whereas I used to be signed in it now says 'Lets add your first account!'. So I tried to add school account, and it also gives me the exact same screen again saying 'Approve sign-in request'... but I'm already in the app?

So I tried clicking 'I can't use my authenticator app right now' and it offers me two options: 'Approve a request on my Microsoft Authenticator App' - this is now three layers of hilarious. The other is 'Use a verification code' which I clicked on, and it says...

'Enter the code displayed in the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device'

So it's now four different ways of telling me to do the same thing I cannot do because I'm trying to log into the very app to do that.

I feel like I'm losing my mind.
