Cannot get mail - the connection to server failed

Hey tech people

I neeeed help. I have noticed today that I haven’t received an email since Monday (which is weird because I usually get at least some spam or something) but for 2 days I haven’t received anything. Then I noticed that on my phone, when I go on the account inbox, it’s empty, the files are gone and everything. Then I noticed that any contact linked to my outlook on my phone is gone and they’re just numbers. So I tried to sign in on someone else’s phone and still no emails, I’ve emailed myself to test it and nothing. I’ve deleted and reinstalled the app, phone off/on, deleted and readded the account, changed my password twice but nothing. I don’t think it’s a problem with my phone though as my emails will not come through on another device either. I’m expecting important emails too please helpppp I’m desperate :(

    1. Can you post a screenshot about your issue?
    2. Can you share what type of email domain they are using?
    3. Can you share what type of office subscription you have?

    Here are some troubleshooting steps that may help resolve your solution:

    1. Check your internet connection: Make sure that your device is connected to the internet and that the connection is stable.
    2. Check the server status: Visit the Microsoft 365 Service Status page to see if there are any known issues with the Outlook service.
    3. Check your account settings: Make sure that your account settings are correct. Double-check your email address, password, and server settings.
    4. Try accessing your account from a different device: If possible, try accessing your email account from a different device to see if the issue persists.

    Hi

    I am having the same issue and none of the above has worked. I think what caused the issue is my mailbox being full even though i usually receive a warning email but i only did in my junk from what looked like a dodgy email and not from microsoft.

    How can I resolve this please?

    I just had this problem!

    Turns out my mailbox was full! Im not sure why but i didnt know this was even a thing! Haha. Well now a bajillion emails down and my emails are happily flowing to my mailbox again on iphone and in outlook :) hope this helps!

    My best advice is try searching through email you super need such as receipts for things you bought and archive them in case you ned proof and then important mail and then honestly just purge the lot. 😆
