I got a new iphone and now when I'm trying to log onto emails (gmail appears to be fine) but anything else like work related email accounts it keeps promoting me to put in a code in my authenticator but when I open the authenticator it doesn't give me anywhere to put this number, just asks if I want to scan a qr code which I don't have. This happens whether I;m trying to sign in on my phone or lap top

    Dear Victoria,

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist.

Based on your description, you are having issue with using Authenticator in your new phone.

For your business account, if you want to use Authenticator in your new phone, you may need to reset the MFA method and configure it on your new phone.

As the business accounts are managed by the tenant admin, would you please contact your admin to reset the MFA option for you:

If you're assigned the Authentication Administrator role, you can require users to reset their password, re-register for MFA, or revoke existing MFA sessions from their user object. To manage user settings, complete the following steps:

    1. Sign in to theMicrosoft Entra admin centeras at least anAuthentication Administrator.
    2. Browse toIdentity*>Users>All users.*
    3. Choose the user you wish to perform an action on and selectAuthentication methods*. At the top of the window, then choose one of the following options for the user:*
      • Reset passwordresets the user's password and assigns a temporary password that must be changed on the next sign-in.
      • Require re-register MFAdeactivates the user's hardware OATH tokens and deletes the following authentication methods from this user: phone numbers, Microsoft Authenticator apps and software OATH tokens. If needed, the user is requested to set up a new MFA authentication method the next time they sign in.
      • Revoke MFA sessionsclears the user's remembered MFA sessions and requires them to perform MFA the next time it's required by the policy on the device.

For more information, please refer to: Manage authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multifactor authentication | Microsoft Learn.

After the MFA reset, you'll be prompted to reset your Authenticator app when you log in to your account from Office365 portal the next time.

I hope the information can be helpful. If there are any updates or I don't understand you, don't hesitate to let me know. I'm going to keep helping you. Your understanding and cooperation are highly appreciated.

Thank you for your valuable time. Have a nice day!

    Sincerely
