Yes same here have spent hours trying to get outlook to work. Used to use Outlook 2019 desktop application and it stoped working with Gmail yesterday. Installed new out look and cant send emails. Now I cant even go back to use the old version of the 365 app as the toggle had disappeared. This is absolutely rediculous I am so sick of computer problems. It seems like nothing works anymore everything is a big headache!

2024-03-15T17:48:09+00:00 I sympathize with you. Strangely, the old Mail tool appeared on my new windows 11 ASUS PC and my email accounts are working through that software, just like my win 10 PC always did. I'm unsure if this is considered Outlook, it simply declares itself as Mail in the "About" selection. This morning the Win11 PC opened a window that insisted I migrate to the New Outlook. I played along for a while, but struggled to get access to my microsoft account. Suddenly it simply gave up and the Mail tool still works.
I'm now struggling with the "sleep" mode on my new ASUS. It doesn't wake up properly (or has gone into unconscious mode ;-))
There are standards for all these software and hardware tools but newer bugs are impossible to escalate through any support personnel and I have no idea how to pose a concise description to Microsoft directly. The ASUS support and Geek Squad only guess at a solution, I've found it better to spend my time researching the problem and experimenting on my own.

2024-03-24T15:11:53+00:00 I have the same problem; can't send emails from my IMAP account through Outlook. Can still receive mail. I think they don't want to support non-Microsoft email servers or accounts, in the same way that Apple doesn't play well with the competition. My settings are correct. There is a "Help" tab in the app but the content is not for the "New" Outlook. One suggestion is to delete and reinstall the application, but a better course may be to delete Outlook and install a third-party email client such as Spark. By the way, Outlook for Android is equally buggy, but in its own ways - best avoid.

2024-04-29T19:49:41+00:00 After days of the HORRIBLE experience with Microsoft Online help (the same infinite maze of clicking a bunch of buttons and eventually looping back to the beginning), I finally got a hold of a helpful (though EXTREMELY hard to understand) technical support man. As said above, the NEW Outlook is messing up. But he showed me an option (a toggle) where you can switch your version back to "LEGACY". No need to reinstall - no need to worry about losing email as far as I know. It repopulated my inbox and took sometime, but all of my test emails that weren't sending out eventually sent successfully at the end.
Again, the customer automated phone support is horrible, and it is extremely difficult to understand live support. Furthermore, I doubt Microsoft will give any attention to the problem. But the legacy mode, if I remember correctly, is from the "ilp" [translation "help"] menu.
