So i recently moved to an ios device from an android, and i was trying to login to microsoft autheticator through my school mail id. But it's asking me for a code from the app in itself when im just trying to login to the app first. But it shows my school id on the app. And even when I need a code for signing in for school uses on my desktop, it says to get a code from the app but I am not receiving any codes?

    Hello arya033,

Thank you for posting this case in Microsoft Community!

As mentioned, you are stucking in Microsoft Authenticator App loop when trying to login to a new device with the same mail account. I would like to cooperate with you working on this case.

For my suggestion, you may try following workaround:

    1. Since you have moved to an IOS device from an android, please make sure if your account has been removed from Microsoft Authenticator App on old android device.

Steps: Microsoft Authenticator App>Clicking account profile>Click Settingslike gear icon on the right top of Window>Remove account.

    1. Then you may go to Office365 portal and check to remove previous Authenticator profile from your android device.

Change your two-step verification method and settings

    1. Then you need to go to Microsoft Authenticator App and remove your account if showing on your IOS device app. Then you can re-add account and do authentication if working fine or not.
    2. If still not working, you may re-install Microsoft Authenticator App and also contact your Office 365 admin to do MFA reset for your account. Finally, you need to do MFA registration again step by step.(**Note:**If you are not sure who is admin, you may check this Microsoft article : How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support )

Also for Microsoft Authonticator app case, you may post question here as related support team could provide more resources working on your issue:

If you need further assistance, please feel free to let me know, I will keep assisting you.

Your understanding and patience will be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello arya033,

    Thank for your reply!

Since you will try to contact your Office 365 admin doing MFA reset, please confirm if you can add account in Microsoft Authenticator app on IOS normally. Once MFA reset, you may check following Microsoft article guide you to enroll MFA again.

Sign in to your accounts using the Microsoft Authenticator app

Please let me know if your case resolved finally and I am looking forward to receiving your reply.

Your understanding and patience will be appreciated.

    Thank you!
