Hello,
I try to run the default example of timer trigger from the portal but if I click Logs it exceeds the schedule without doing anything and when I click the Test/Run button I get this error :
Would you please explain to me what does this error mean? and how to fix it?
@ferdaous harmel Can you confirm if you have define AzureWebJobsStorage configuration for your function app. The Azure Functions runtime uses this storage account connection string for normal operations.

Indeed I add four configurations: AzureWebJobsDashboard,AzureWebJobsStorage,WEBSITE_CONTENTAZUREFILECONNECTIONSTRING,WEBSITE_CONTENTSHARE.
So would you please tell me why when creating the azure app we have not the ability to attach it to a storage account? and why shall I add all these variables with the same value which is the connectionString of the storage account?

@ferdaous harmel From the function end these four configuration are used by the function app/runtime for different uses and these setting are only specific to your functions not to webapps.
AzureWebJobsDashboard: Optional storage account connection string for storing logs and displaying them in the Monitor tab in the portal. This setting is only valid for apps that target version 1.x of the Azure Functions runtime
AzureWebJobsStorage : The Azure Functions runtime uses this storage account connection string for normal operation. Some uses of this storage account include key management, timer trigger management, and Event Hubs checkpoints. The storage account must be a general-purpose one that supports blobs, queues, and tables. See Storage account and Storage account requirements.
WEBSITE_CONTENTAZUREFILECONNECTIONSTRING: Connection string for storage account where the function app code and configuration are stored in event-driven scaling plans running on Windows
WEBSITE_CONTENTSHARE: : The file path to the function app code and configuration in an event-driven scaling plan on Windows. Used with WEBSITE_CONTENTAZUREFILECONNECTIONSTRING. Default is a unique string that begins with the function app name
