I need to forward multiple emails from web Outlook365 as attachments. This account does not have a desktop version as a workaround.

I already read that web outlook can't forward multiple emails instantly.

The workaround is forwarding them one by one or use teh desktop application.

Well, neither is acceptable or possible in my case.

So I want a better solution.

And I would like to know why Microsoft in its eternal wisdom degrades everything that was good in their tools. I'm genuinly sick of it by now and woiuld like an explanation or atleast an excuse. You have cost me so much time, money and frustration!

impatiently
Jim

Here's what works for me with my corporate email (Edge/Outlook Web) -

Start new email (pop out if required)

Drag messages from Inbox to new email - they get added as attachments

    Send email

    Hope this helps.

I admire your patience with me! Thanks!

Third party email clients are not allowed at my company. We are forced to work within Microsoft365. And this is a special webaccount only for our servicedesk. It does not have a user account for desktop environments. We can only access web features.

Batch Download, is it even possible in the web outlook?

Automating with scripts would be wonderful if it would work and is allowed in the Microsoft365 web-app environment? But I haven't done it before. I'm a complete novice. Where do I begin to learn it? (I do know some about scripting in Powershell on desktop, but this is a question about only having webservices available)

    Thanks again
    Jim

    Hi, Jim

We understand your frustration with the limitations of Outlook Web when it comes to forwarding multiple emails as attachments.

Unfortunately, the web version does have some constraints compared to the desktop version.

Here are a few alternative solutions you might consider:

    1. Use a Third-Party Email Client: Some third-party email clients, like Thunderbird, allow you to connect your Outlook account and might offer more flexible options for forwarding multiple emails as attachments.
    2. Batch Download and Reattach: You could download the emails you want to forward as .eml files and then attach them to a new email. This can be done by opening each email, selecting "Save As," and choosing the .eml format.
    3. Automate with Scripts: If you're comfortable with scripting, you could use PowerShell or another scripting language to automate the process of forwarding multiple emails. This would require some technical know-how but could save time in the long run.

Regarding your feedback on Microsoft's tools, it's important to note that software updates often aim to improve security, performance, and user experience based on broad user feedback -Release notes for Outlook for Windows (new) - Office release notes | Microsoft Learn.

However, these changes can sometimes lead to frustrations for specific use cases- Fixes or workarounds for recent issues in new Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Support.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation.

    Best Regards,

The option Forward as Attachment were not where you said it should be.

But it was available as main menu option when selecting one file. This created a new message in the main window.

But then I could not see the other messages.

If i returned to the inbox it was saved as a draft.

When I repeated the process, it creates new separate messages. They are not added to the first draft.

So it does not make any difference from the previous bad workarounds.

Also, I checked how New Outlook worked, and to my horror, it works exactly as the web version.
I have reported this and MANY other issues, via feedback and occasionally as suggestions.
But I find Microsoft so hopelessly tone deaf, and the catastrophic changes are so numerous so I just hope for MS to crash and burn and someone else to create something new that works instead.

I hope the world ends soon if I have to work with Microsoft much longer.

    Hi, Jim

    Good day!

Thank you for posting to Microsoft Community. We are glad to assist you!

According to your description, I understand your frustration.

Unfortunately, the web version of Outlook 365 does have limitations compared to the desktop version. However, there is a way to forward multiple emails as attachments in Outlook Web:

    1. Open the email you want to forward.
    2. Click on the More actions button (three dots) at the top-right corner.
    3. Select Forward as attachment from the drop-down menu.
    4. Repeat these steps for each email you want to attach.

While this isn't a perfect solution, it allows you to forward emails as attachments without needing the desktop version.

Regarding your feedback on Microsoft's tools, it's important to note that software updates often aim to improve security, performance, and user experience based on broad user feedback.

However, these changes can sometimes lead to frustrations for specific use cases. I recommend sharing your feedback directly with Microsoft through their Outlook · Community to help them understand and address your concerns.

Thank you for your precious time and your understanding would be highly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Alex | Microsoft Community Moderator.
