RD 10.6.7 forward prints to local printer - MAC

I'm using a Mac mini M1 running Big Sur. I have been using RD to log into my work computer from home. I have an Epson Printer connected via Wifi to mu Mac. I read up on how to use this LOCAL printer while logged into my Work computer using RD 10.6.7, Every response stated to select "Forward to local printer". I believe this was for older versions since I do not see this open in 10.6.7. When I "Edit PC" there is a Tab for "Devices & Audio" under this Tab there are radio button to select the devices you want to use in session. I have Printers/Clipboard and Microphone selected.

How do I use my local wifi printer to print docs from RD? When I try Print on RD/PC Side all I see are Printers connected at work on the network. Is there a way to easily select my local printer instead? Does it have to be Hard Connected via USB to show up?

Thanks any help would be appreciated.

Jerry

    Hello @Gerald O'Hara ,

    Thanks for your query.

1.Could you please download and install Microsoft Remote Desktop Beta for Mac OS Version 10.6.8 (1898) on your device and check if the same issue would happen? https://install.appcenter.ms/orgs/rdmacios-k2vy/apps/microsoft-remote-desktop-for-mac/distribution_groups/all-users-of-microsoft-remote-desktop-for-mac
2.Did you upgrade your Mac computer OS to the latest version?
3.Please open RDC on MAC, when you clicking the new “+” icon to add a new remote desktop connection, it opens the Edit Remote Desktops window, select Session tab, you will see option “Forward printing devices”. If the remote desktop connection has been added, right click the connection and click Edit. Select Session tab, you will see option “Forward printing devices”.

    Hello Leila

My current 10.6.7 does not have the option to edit existing PC setup. All I get is what is shown below (I pasted from desktop so hope it works):

I also am having an issue with copy/paste between RDC session and my Mac. As shown above I also have Clipboard checked to share. No matter what I do between computers can I get copy/paste to work.

I will download RDC 10.6.8 and get back to you.

So I downloaded 10.6.8 Beta for Mac.

I see the same choices/options on .8 as for .7.

I see no "Forward printing devices" at all. Nowhere in options/settings. Am I seeing things differently than most others using this program???? I don't even see the "Sessions" Tab you have shown above.

    Hello @Gerald O'Hara ,

How are things going there on this issue?

Please try to check "Printers" to solve the problem:

    @Leila Kong

Yeah nothing has changed. This “Forward printing devices” you speak of in your first response is not present in the latest RD for Mac. I had posted images of the settings for 10.6.7 & 10.6.8 - all that is available is the screenshot I had posted (and you reposted in latest response). Yes I have "Printers" checked as well as "Clipboard". I don't know what this does for me. When I'm logged into my Remote PC session from my Mac, using RD 10.6.7, there is no "local" printer shown in print dialog on PC. Also, when I use copy/paste between RD session and Macintosh it doesn't work. Is Mac/PC integration not working on RD for Mac or am I not using this correctly.

Overall RD for Mac at least allows me to log into my remote PC desktop - that's a plus. Otherwise it's integration with Mac is terrible - no local printing or copy/paste. Maybe it used to work in old RD using “Forward printing devices”.
