Unable to Turn on Application Insights

Hello,

I find out this error when I want to Turn on Application Insights inside a function app using the Sandbox for the Example "Run your code on-demand with Azure Functions".

Would you please tell me how to fix this ?

Can you try to restart the function once and then try to add Application Insight?

Also, could you please mention the steps you are performing before you are encountering the error?

Please share the documentation link you are following, if any.

Hello!
I had the similar problem following the exercise in "Run your code on-demand with Azure Functions".

The Application Insights were turned off in the created sandbox.
I tried to turn it on from my Function App, main menu Monitoring > Logs. I got some error about non-existing default workspace . After few unsuccessful attempts there was an error "Can't update settings without Application Insights resource.".

So I used "Create a resource" from the very top "Home" menu of Microsoft Azure to create a resource of "Application Insights" type for my account. It's under the "Developer Tools" category. Then I was able to turn on Application Insights for my Function App, main menu Monitoring > Logs using the option "Existing resource" and selecting the resource created in the previous step.

I've got the same problem.
Followed instructions on:

Problem appears when I want to examine the log and Azure tells me to configure Application Insights.
When applying the default configuration in the sandbox the following error message appears:
Resource group 'DefaultResourceGroup-WEU' could not be found. (Code: ResourceGroupNotFound)

I had the same issue on my Azure function project. I was getting the same error when I try to turn Application insights on using Create new resource option ( and its default generated names) . I created a new Application Insights resource within the function project's resource group and then go back to the function project to enable application insights. This time I used select existing and clicked on the Application Insights resource that was just created. It requires many steps however works well.

So why do they give an option to use an existing resource if it doesn't work?
