Hi - does anyone know if it's safe to delete the file in the title. it's 40mb in size. It's stored in:

local settings>application data>microsoft>Onenote>12.0

It's not a good idea to delete this file, because it contains the cached copy of all your Onenote notebooks. ON stores all changes in a notebook at first in this cache and then in the corresponding notebook, where ever it is.

All you can try is to shrink it by "Optimizing": to be found under Tool, Options, Save.

    Yes.

    The safe way is

    1. close all notebooks
    2. change the location (see picture of Onenote options)
    3. re-open the notebooks
