Ctrl 0 doesn't work

Word 2010. I Used Ctrl 0 oftentimes to toggle the standard upper paragraph distance to 12 / 0 px. On one Win7 machine it won't work. When I check in the keyboard settings what command is on Ctrl 0 (possibly overridden?) and would press Ctrl 0 as usually (with all other keys it would now write the key's names in the textbox) nothing appears in the textbox. Does this means that some other app sits on the key combination Ctrl 0? I don't have any Idea how to find this out. I just checked: in fact, the problem appears even immediately after starting the computer.

No, unfortunately no change. Yes, of course it recreates a standard normal.dotm, but still, when I try Ctrl-0 nothing happens, and when I try to add this hotkey on pressing Ctrl-0 into the "New hotkey" textbox, the "Ctrl-0" is not inserted. So the system seems to steel away this hoteky.

How can I see, which process sits on a key or key-combination on windows level? ....

Right now I got the striking idea! And could solve it. Remember for change of keyboard language sets Windows suggests Ctrl+No. This configuration took away my Ctrl-0. Now everything works fine.

Still thanks for your help. And still my question is there for future how I can find out which process sits on a key or key-combination on windows level - but this goes probably beyond the scope of this forum, just in case somebody knows.

Thanks again.

Note that the original poster came up with the solution in 2010 for his/her specific issue.

Of course, turning off the "Don't add space..." option will be helpful in some situations. To be more precise, this applies to situations where you see a value for Spacing Before or After added (in the Paragraph dialog box, for example) but the spacing displays as zero in the document.

It's really simple to turn back on without reassigning keystrokes.

All you need to do is go to the Paragraph Dialog Box and turn off "Don't add space between paragraphs of the same style".

    Click on Set as Default

Choose All documents based on the Normal.dotm template?

    Click OK
