    Saved from a previous post:

    Are you using xl2007?

    You may be suffering from a common problem in xl2007 that lots of people have

    complained about.  The workbook is open, just not visible.

    One way to see it is to click on the Office button and start to open another

    workbook, but then just dismiss the dialog.  You may see your workbook open

    after this.  (Ctrl-O, then escape may work???)

    Currently, there isn't a fix--just workarounds.

    =========

    I've seen some posts that suggest that turning on the solver addin (or any

    addin) may remove the problem.  I've never experienced the problem, so I never

    tested if this was a solution.

    Now it looks like a screen refresh problem.

    Make sure:

    1. You have SP2 for Office 2007 installed - Alt+1, Resources, bottom line should give the version of XL with SP2 in the line.

    2.  Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed - go to the manufacture's web site and download and install if needed.

    Thanks for the link...unfortunately that did not resolve my issue.  After excel opens, my document does not show on the screen (it is not minimized, I double checked per message above).  When I touch the office button, the document immediately shows on the screen.  It is just irritating to have to touch or click the office button after years of not having to do so.  Any other suggestions? :)
