Split From: Will Office 2003 work with Windows 8?

Trying to install MS-Office Professional with Windows 8 professional. 

Getting the error message after entering the product key.

"Microsoft office setup cannot continue because the installation source has been corrupted"

The product key is correct. Tried researching and saw this link:

(however the reference files have been changed)

Could someone help!

Hi Mike,

Thank you for choosing Microsoft Community.

Ideally Microsoft Office 2003 is not fully compatible on Windows 8; that said you should still be able to install it on Windows 8.

Before I proceed with the troubleshooting, I would require some more information.

Are you installing office 2003 using the installation disc or from downloaded file?

If it’s a disc, then create a flat and try installing the Office 2003 from the copied location. To do that, create a folder on your desktop and then copy over the contents of the Office 2003 installation disk to that folder. Once the files are copied over, double click on the setup.exe file within the folder to start the installation.

You may run the ‘Fix it’ available for 2003 from the following article to remove all installed Office Components and then try installing Office 2003.

I HAVE similar problem. I have just bought a netbook with Windows 8 and cannot install Microsoft Office 2003, after copying all setup disk diles on the comp hard drive .

 

I still get error message:

 

Microsoft Office Setup cannot continue because the installation source has been corrupted.

 

Can you please help as I cannot find a solution on Windows 8 support centre!?

Before we proceed I would require some more information to assist you better.

Mention the edition of Office 2003 you are trying to install on the computer?
