Shaded, Basic Table list views not displaying

If I change a contact list view style to "Shade", it does not display the shaded.  I know it's changing, as the annoying "toolbar disappearing" is happening.  Same goes for Basic Table.

BUT .. if I change it to Boxed it works.

I'm running into this on multiple site, multiple tenants.

No custom CSS on either site.  Just "change the look" to one of the standard palettes.

Other client site now works.  Note they reported this issue a week ago and I confirmed it broken.  Something has changed on your side.

    hi mike,

    sorry for misunderstanding.

to better understand the scenario, i’d like to confirm some information:

    1. try with another browser.
    2. create a new site collection, and then change the view style to shaded or basic table.
    3. share with us the settings of your shaded or basic table view.
    4. provide a screenshot of the list when the shade or basic table view style is not applied.

to upload a screenshot, click use rich formatting just under the textbox, then click this icon![](http://fud.community.services.support.microsoft.com/Fud/FileDownloadHandler.ashx?fid=739bbb59-4578-4336-8b4b-61de040ae69b) and browse to select files.

    regards,

I"m afraid you've misunderstood the problem.

    1. I create a list.
    2. I change the view style to Shaded or Basic table.
    3. The style is not applied.

I mentioned the toolbar because it disappears, as is expected, so I know I'm no longer using the default style.

This has been replicated on multiple sites, multiple tenants.

    hi mike,

it’s an expected behavior that the following toolbar is not displayed by default when changing the view style to shade or basic table.

as a workaround, we can change the setting of the web part to show the toolbar.

    1. on the contact list page, click gear icon on the top-right corner, and then click edit page.
    2. find the contact web part, then click the down arrow and select edit web part.
    3. select your view (shade or basic table) for selected view, and then choose show toolbar for toolbar type. you need to change the setting for each view.
    4. then click ok to save the change, and finish editing by click stop editing on the top-left corner.

let us know if there is any misunderstanding.

    regards,

    jiaxing bian
