Problem sending email Workflow - SharePoint Online

Hi,

my workflow 2013 on my SharePoint online site (team site based) is not working anymore (it was).

I have the following error :

This happens to every workflow directly after the ietm is created. We change the DNS of our Email recently, i don't know if it can be the reason of the problem (it's not @myO365DNS.onmicrosoft.com but @mysociety.com).

Any Ideas ?

Another important point ! Every tasks created by my workflows didn't work ... So i had to recreate every action "Begin a new Schedule process task" on my workflow SharePoint ... I can't explain why the olds "Begin a new Schedule process task" didn't work anymore but that's a fact i recreated the excactly same tasks and it worked again. Fortunately i just had one workflow to update, i can't imagine the work it represents for something more sofisticated.

Next time i'll definitely push my customers to choose Nintex instead of the native workflow with SP Designer it's too complicated to maintain.

Hi, thx for your answer,

I found out ! I's effectively a bug due to our DNS changes. With 2 DNS the users accounts have 2 emails @ and if you choose the wrong one it doesn't work and the workflow goes to error.

I deleted the old emails associated to an account and it works.

    given the error message, the issue may be caused when the workflow is looking for the user’s email address based on the “consultants” column. for further clarifying your situation, could you provide us with some additional information as below?

    1. does the “consultants” column allow multiple selections?
    2. could you provide the details of how your workflow is designed? some related screenshots as below will be appreciated:

    1. could you provide us with the affected users accounts for our investigation? to protect your privacy, i have sent a private message to collect the information. you can access the private message via https://community.office365.com/user/conversations.

    meanwhile, given your description, we suspect that the issue may be relative to the multiple or invalid value of the user profile. for further narrowing down the cause, could you help do the following tests and let us know the results?

    1. if you add a workflow using the default workflow template such as disposition approval, will the issue occur?
    2. create a new list and add a workflow to send emails to the users, does the error prompt?
    3. try if you can access https://*[sharepointsite]/*sites/gestion_mandats/_layouts/15/listedit.aspx?list=%7b17af6f08-9c0b-46bb-977c-cab2d4bd111b%7d. if so, may i know which list it is?
    4. go to sharepoint admin center > user profiles > manage user profiles > enter an affected user name (e.g. admin) and click find. will you find duplicated entries there?

    i'll give you additionnal details :

    1. is it the workflow: when creating an item in a list in sharepoint online, it sends an email to a specific email address? if so, if you specify another email address which doesn’t use @mysociety.com as the suffix, will the issue occur? : when an item is created the workflow send an email to a the email of an o365 account associated to this item field (there is a field "consultant" which is a people picker, i'm using this information the email @ is like @mysociety.com).
    2. could you clarify how you changed the dns of your email? what's kind of dns? we have an internet website and existing emails @, so we decided to use o365 accounts and had to add a new dns to o365 and then update the dns property in o365. like this instead of using @onmicrosoft.com we are using @mysociety.com. when it was done, o365 updated every existing profil to use this new dns.
    3. does the issue occur to the workflows created before? it seems that it starts with this but i can't be 100% sure. i also saw that this dns created another problem. every account contains 2 smtp @ which is wrong we just want the new one. so i deleted the old one for an account but in sharepoint when we want to use the people picker there is always 2 times the same profile ! this is a problem for my users because it will cause many troubles ... you can see what i mean here :

    1. check if the issue occurs to every user in your organization : it seems yes, i don't have time to check every single users but every ones i tried there was the same problem.

    then the error message of the workflow translated :

    since the error message is not in english, we’d suggest you translate them to english since this forum is a english forum or you may consider posting the issue with the requested information above to the corresponding language forum so that the issue can be resolved efficiently.
